Why this matters: our read
This is a limited release, in select theaters and on VOD and digital, not a wide one.
Dark Sky Films has announced that “Human,” directed by Matt Stuertz, arrives October 23 in select theaters and on VOD and digital, and Dread Central reports a trailer is out. Dark Sky’s press release, as published by Moviehooker, says the film has already played to audiences at FrightFest and Obscura Film Fest. iHorror reports the world premiere was at FrightFest in London on August 22, 2025, more than a year before the October date.
In Dark Sky’s synopsis, Dani Ferris, played by Jackie Kelly, is alone and away from home past midnight, on a night of “friends, lovers, enemies” and “little guns, bigger guns.” The press release likens the film to a single-night thriller with a “claustrophobic” feeling, and Dread Central, describing the trailer, calls it a single-location story.
Per the press release, Mia Sydney, Jeffrey Decker, Cecily Dowd and Brock Russell also star. It credits David Neiss as writer, and Stuertz and David Christopher Pitt as producers.
