Horror arriving on streaming services in October 2026

A dated list of horror titles arriving on streaming services in October 2026, with credits and the territory each announcement names.

The Splatter Scoop desk · · 3 min read

Regions: North America, Canada, International

Coverage noteThis desk describes technique and industry news, not plot, and treats on-screen effects as craft, not spectacle. When a story does need to discuss plot specifics, the standfirst says so before you scroll further.

Horror titles arriving on streaming services this month. Selection is the desk’s own: horror and monster stories, including adaptations of horror novels and franchises. Dates and credits come from the service’s or distributor’s own announcement, except where a line names another outlet. Each entry gives the territory its source names, if any. Trailers are linked where an announcement or an outlet we cite links or embeds one.

On Shudder

These are the October films in AMC’s Season of Screams, Shudder’s programming event. AMC also lists series and specials, which we have not listed. Its August release names six markets for Shudder: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

  • Infirmary, arrived October 2. A Shudder Original in which a guard vanishes on his first night at an old psychiatric hospital and leaves bodycam footage behind. Paul Syre, Mark Anthony Williams and Danielle Kennedy star.
  • V/H/S/Mixtape, October 9. AMC calls it the ninth film in the found-footage anthology series, with segments from Ernest Dickerson, RZA, David Moreau and Renee Zhan. AMC says Zhan’s segment includes puppets from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
  • Hallowarrior, October 16. On the night before Halloween, the last girl on Earth, played by Milly Shapiro, faces a gang of raiders led by Shannyn Sossamon’s character.
  • The Cycle, October 23. Police find a corpse and turn to the dead man’s estranged daughter, played by Deborah Ann Woll. Jeffrey Donovan also stars.
  • Big Baby, October 30. Spider One directs, and Cher is an executive producer. A horror writer’s new script draws on nightmares of a killer in a baby mask.
  • Hunting Matthew Nichols, October 31. Miranda MacDougall and Markian Tarasiuk star in a story about a documentary filmmaker who investigates her brother’s disappearance on Vancouver Island.

On Crave in Canada

Bell Media’s October overview lists these Canadian streaming dates.

  • Evil Dead Burn, arrived October 2. Bell Media lists it as exclusive to Crave.
  • Crystal Lake, October 15. See Peacock below.
  • Hunting Matthew Nichols, October 31. See Shudder above.

On Peacock

On Prime Video

  • Apocalypse Z: New World, October 30. Carles Torrens directs the sequel, which Amazon’s news site places in the Canary Islands after an outbreak. Amazon gives the same October 30 date worldwide. Amazon’s teaser page.

Reported by other outlets

We could not read Netflix’s, Hulu’s or Tubi’s own listings, so these dates come from other outlets and name no territory. What’s on Netflix lists other titles too, including library films. The first three are new Netflix titles it includes.

  • Below, October 8 (Netflix). A six-episode Newfoundland sea-monster series from showrunner Jesse McKeown.
  • Balaraw: Blood Island, October 29 (Netflix). A Filipino horror mystery with Janine Gutierrez and Charlie Dizon.
  • Dead-End Job, October 30 (Netflix). A Korean supernatural series with Lee Jae Wook and Go Min Si.
  • Hokum, October 10 (Hulu). Dread Central reports that Damian McCarthy’s film arrives on Hulu.
  • R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, October 9 (Tubi). Vital Thrills reproduces Tubi’s October lineup, which lists the premiere and other titles we have not listed. Rue Morgue says Jem Garrard wrote and directed it, with Cassandra Peterson in the cast. Rue Morgue’s story covers the trailer.
