Roadside Attractions and Saban Films still plan to release spider thriller Crawlers, with Matilda Lutz, on October 16; Dread Central posted three new stills.
Coverage noteThis desk describes technique and industry news, not plot, and treats on-screen effects as craft, not spectacle. When a story does need to discuss plot specifics, the standfirst says so before you scroll further.
Why this matters: our read
I read this as a reminder rather than news. The October 16 date was announced in August, and only the stills are new, so the film itself is still unseen.
“Crawlers” arrives in theaters on October 16 from Roadside Attractions and Saban Films, according to the trailer-and-poster announcement carried by BroadwayWorld in August. Ángel Gómez Hernández directs from a script by Jayson Rothwell, and Matilda Lutz stars as Serena, a building manager.
The setup, as the BroadwayWorld announcement describes it: a catastrophic outbreak of venomous spiders sends an apartment building into lockdown, with a police-mandated quarantine trapping the residents inside. Dread Central reported on October 2 that three new production stills have been released.
We have not seen the film.
