These are the makers' own descriptions, so how the finished creatures look on screen is still open, and the release itself gives two opening dates.

According to a press release from Epic Pictures and Dread, published by Horror Society, the creatures in “Devour” were built practically, with handcrafted suits, prosthetics, makeup and animatronics. It credits designer Wayne Anderson with leading the work alongside the OX FX team, and lists his credits as including “Stranger Things” and “IT: Chapter One.”

Scott B. Hansen, the director, gave more detail in a January interview with Blazing Minds, ahead of the film’s UK premiere at Horror-on-Sea. Asked about favorite moments during filming, he named the werewolf, which he puts at 11 feet, walking around a set the crew spent two months building. He also spoke of missing the sight of the monster suits running around.

The press release describes an all-girl heavy metal band stranded after a bad gig, who end up in a town controlled by a warlock, among cannibals, vampires and a werewolf. Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies is in the cast, and the runtime is listed as 113 minutes.

The press release’s headline gives October 13 as the opening in select theaters and on digital platforms, though its first sentence refers to an October 9 release.
